DJI's smart controllers (RC Plus, RC Pro, RC Pro Enterprise) run Android, which means the UAS Dashboard app can live on the controller itself — alongside DJI Pilot 2 — instead of on a separate phone. Once it's there, flight records import themselves about a minute after landing, with nothing to export, cable, or copy.
The controller build is distributed as a direct download rather than through Google Play, because DJI controllers don't ship with the Play Store. Everything else about the app is identical to the phone version.
What you need
- A DJI RC Plus, RC Pro, or RC Pro Enterprise with DJI Pilot 2 installed and at least one flight recorded (so the FlightRecord folder exists).
- The controller connected to Wi-Fi.
- Your UAS Dashboard sign-in. Enterprise pilots also need their agency's site address (for example
agency.uasdashboard.com).
1. Download and install
On the controller, open the browser and go to **uasdashboard.com/controller**. Tap Download for Android controllers (.apk).
When the download finishes, open it from the notification shade or the Downloads folder. Android will ask whether to allow installs from the browser the first time — allow it, then tap Install. The controller may show a Play Protect warning because the app didn't come from the Play Store; choose Install anyway.
If the controller's browser is locked down, download the file on a computer instead, copy it to a microSD card, insert the card, and open the .apk from the controller's file manager.
2. Sign in
Open UAS Dashboard from the controller's app list and sign in. Enterprise users tap Enterprise user? Sign in to your agency's site and enter the agency subdomain first.
3. Grant the flight-record folder — once
Go to the Flights tab and tap Turn on automatic flight import. Android opens a folder picker: navigate to DJI Pilot 2's flight-record folder and tap Use this folder. On most controllers the path is:
`` Internal storage › Android › data › dji.industry.pilot › files › FlightRecord ``
Grant access when asked. This is a one-time step; the grant survives reboots and app updates.
4. Fly
That's it. A small, silent flight sync notification stays in the shade while the app is watching the folder. Land, and the flight appears on the web dashboard within about a minute, with the controller still showing DJI Pilot 2. Nothing needs to be open or tapped.
Encrypted DJI records (log version 13 and newer) are decrypted on the server using the DJI Open API key your instance has configured — if flights arrive but show "decryption needs a key", ask your System Admin to add it under Admin → Integrations.
Updating the app
Updates come the same way: open **uasdashboard.com/controller** on the controller and install the new .apk over the old one. Your sign-in and the folder grant are kept.
Troubleshooting
"App not installed" or the install button is greyed out. Free up space on the controller (the app needs about 150 MB), or the download was interrupted — delete it and download again.
Flights don't appear after landing. Open the app and check the Flights tab: if the automatic-import banner says it's off, the folder grant was revoked (this happens if Android storage permissions were reset). Tap it and re-pick the FlightRecord folder. Also confirm the controller has Wi-Fi — uploads queue while offline and send when a connection returns.
Sync notification disappeared. Some controllers aggressively stop background apps. In the controller's Android settings, find UAS Dashboard under Apps → Battery and set it to Unrestricted, and make sure notifications for the app are allowed.
Wrong folder picked. Turn automatic import off and back on from the Flights tab; the picker opens again.
